Have you been dreaming of sewing for yourself or sewing for your little ones but that dream so far seems unattainable? Perhaps you used to watch your mom and your grandmother sew but you never got the chance to learn from them and now you wish you had learned? Or maybe the last time you touched a sewing machine was in high school. The good news is that it is never too late to learn a new skill, or revive an old one, not even sewing!
We’d like to welcome you to the wonderful world of sewing with our beginner-friendly sewing class designed specifically for adults who are new to sewing, or who have not sewn anything in a long, long time.

What is the objective of this class?
This is a hands-on class and is designed to help you get started or rekindle your passion for sewing. You will be introduced or reintroduced to the world of sewing and be equipped with the foundational skills and knowledge necessary to start and become comfortable with the basic aspects of sewing. You will grow from a novice level to a beginner level. By the end of the class, you will have started building your portfolio of sewing techniques and you will complete a simple project that you will be proud of.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
Getting Acquainted With the Sewing Machine:
You will learn the different parts of a sewing machine and their functions, how to thread it, and get started sewing.
Essential Sewing Tools:
You will discover and identify different sewing tools necessary to complete a project.
Basic Sewing Techniques:
Start building your portfolio of sewing skills by learning the fundamental sewing techniques such as sewing a plain seam, how to start and end your stitching, how to keep your stitching straight, different machine stitches and when to use them, simple hemming techniques, seam finishes, etc
Basic Construction:
Put it all together and complete a simple project.
